Where do mosquitoes predominantly lay their eggs?

Mosquitoes primarily lay their eggs in standing water because this environment provides the necessary conditions for their larvae to develop. Standing water, such as ponds, marshes, tree holes, and containers that accumulate water, offers a stagnant habitat where the eggs can hatch into larvae.

These larvae, often referred to as wrigglers, require still water to survive, as they feed on organic matter and microorganisms that thrive in such conditions.
