Which type of ants are known for their method of foraging with large colonies?

Carpenter ants are recognized for their large colonies and their unique foraging methods. These ants can form extensive worker groups that enable them to gather food effectively. Their colonies can range from a few hundred to several thousand members, with some having multiple satellite nests.
